That night on her rooftop, Gol dressed in grey tights spun to a wailing singer and wept. She hated her life, maybe she should just run? But they’d find her, they always fucking found her. Her Luce was gone, poof. The one person in this life whom she loved and who really loved her back was probably dead.
There was no body, no burial, no mourning, nothing! Just an ‘oops, opposing forces got them’ and it was all business as usual the next moment. What the hell had Luce been doing to get her in the cross hairs of Lucifer’s dads’ people?
She’d gotten nowhere on the issue, she was supposed to just dance, seed, dance, seed like nothing had happened!
All she’d wanted was peace, to live with her baby sister in peace. Were they even doing the sensible thing? Was true freedom really better? People were so fucked she was tired. Maybe in death she’d find the peace she sought… maybe she’d find Luce.
What if they weren’t dead? Her mother was handling it all so badly, what if there was a chance and mother dearest just felt Luce and Baal Jr were disposable? All earth knew it wasn’t beyond that woman.
“Luce.” She dug deep within herself and released all the pain she felt into her routine. “My baby, come back.”
Zuri woke with a start, an urgency pounded in his head, accompanied by a wild headache. “Argh!”
Home, he needed to go back home. But wait, here was home now? No…it wasn’t he needed to take her and go home, she was needed! Luce, come back Luce!
“Grrr!” His head hurt. “Argh!” He jumped out of his bed and everything went black.
Wicked pain radiated through Zuri’s body, his right shoulder had a kai rod sticking out of it. “Argh!” He blinked his surroundings into focus “Uri?”
He looked down, his party shirt was torn up bad. He was bleeding from more than just his shoulder. “What the heck?”
Raph’s pretty beige room was superiorly trashed. Lamps lay broken on the floor, chairs destroyed, there was a moon sized hole in her wall and smoke filled the air.
Uri stood in front of Zen who held his shaking sister in his arms, her shorts and t shirt were sweat soaked and ripped like his.
Whip elongated she picked up another dagger rod. “Zuri?”
“What happened—why am I daggered? My head!”
Uri dropped her weapon and picked up kai vials. “You’re back.” She rushed to Zuri and pulled her dagger out.
“Argh!”
“Drink these.”
He drank. “What the—”
“Quiet. You tried to kidnap Raph, before it took over where were you going?”
“I…home—my birth dimension.”
She nodded. “That’s where this is rooted. I believe something dormant in you has been awakened, it’s the only thing that makes sense.” She uncapped a vial of oil and poured it on her hand. She rubbed it over his eyes. “Heavenly FATHER, I consecrate and sanctify this eyes to you again. Let darkness never take over, let him know what is asked of him by the dark and do the opposite.” She anointed his feet. “Lead him in the way that would solve this issue.”
“Uri, my head!”
“Our dimension’s fighting what’s in you. You have to go or you’ll die.”
“In me…Argh!”
“Now!” She handed him his bag. “You came with this.”
He grabbed it and slammed the already set portal on his compass open. “Find me, Uri.”
“You bet. Track the source, Zuri.” She nodded at him. “We’ll kill them all.”
“Yes commander.” He stepped through the portal, his eyes fell on Zen and Raph. “Damn, you know I’d never—”
“Of course. No fear here.”
“Only the light of our CREATOR.” His eyes hurt. “Shit!”
“Close it!”
He slammed the portal shut. He eyed the depressing brown grass in the dimension of his birth. “Great, just great.”
